Dear Readers and Listeners,
As
you might have heard on the radio show, we successfully launched
our Fitness Challenge on January 18th with the help of our personal
trainer, Jennifer Schumm. Jennifer is a dedicated and well-respected
trainer and she definitely expects the best from each of us.
Thanks Jen! Our first group workout was tough but we all agree,
getting started has been a great team accomplishment.
Before
jumping aboard the fitness bandwagon, Rachelle and I entertained
many discussions about whether or not we were ready to take
on such a challenge. We knew it was going to take a lot of hard
work and dedication (plus enduring some initial aches-and-pains)
but we agreed that "YES!" we had to do this.
How
can we have a radio show that promotes
health,
wealth and happiness
without
leading the way toward better health ourselves?
"I'm
not sure I have the time", I complained. "I'm so busy
with my coaching practice and I really NEED to be working on
the show!" "Welcome to the club," Rachelle agreed.
In some ways she pushed back even harder than me. "But
everyone is busy and there's never a better time," she
said. So onward we went and by the power of our creative persuasion
(yes, we basically ganged up on people) we brought the whole
group along with us -- all of those wonderful folks who help
make this show possible. We want everyone involved with the
show to feel good and to be fit.
We
have each faced our own inner resistance in one way or another.
For example, Adrian volunteered to give up his spot on the floor
(that dreaded place of push-ups and sit-ups) to be our official
workout photographer. But so far, so good; he's been showing
up to the gym, hitting the floor routine with the rest of us
AND climbing up that stair-stepper like a true champ. The photographer
job is still up for grabs.
We believe that if we can do this, so can you! Our sincere hope
is that our commitment to get fit inspires you to be your best
self too.

and cardiovascular fitness routines at Greenwood Athletic and
Tennis Club.
